NFS5-PU on Windows 2000, no work?

Has anybody ever gotten Need For Speed 5 Porsche Unleashed to work on windows 2k?

I got it to work once a long time ago, but I hadn't tried in awhile, and now it doesn't work.

Any ideas?
Like, "Its never worked, you must be crazy!" or something.

Thanks

Don't give up. It can work. bump for someone who might know.

Try renaming gimme.dll to something else. Also try setting swapfile size to 256mb min and max. Good luck, I think this fixes it for most not all. forum link I think try the swapfile first.

It works fine for me on Win2k. I did have problems at first, but after looking at this I was able to get it to work. I think you have to try what madmax said.

I tried to just rename the file and run it.
It would work, but would have a memory leak error after awhile.

Setting the Min and Max swap file sizes the same fixed it.
I have 512Megs of ram, and now that I think about it,
I only had 128Megs last time I ran NFS5-PU.
I set the Swap-file to 1024-1024Megs, It was 1024-16384Megs!

16 GIGS before it would crash!

Anywho.
Thanks ya'll!

Edit* something I must note, NFS5 requires an 8 Bit stencil buffer to work, the latest ATI drivers (6014-6032)
Have it disabled by default.
