NFS5: Porsche 2000 crashes

I've got NFS Porsche 2000, but it just crashes constantly. It just freezes up while playing, mainly on the 'Normandie' track, but less commonly on the others.

It doesn't matter what car I use, what graphics settings are used in the game. I've tried windows 98 and ME, and I've tried various drivers for my Geforce 2 card (including both creative and NVidia drivers). I've tweaked with the BIOS. Nothing makes the slightest difference.

System specs are: KT7-RAID, Athlon 1000, 256 MB PC133, Creative GeForce2.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem.. that game just randomly/constantly freeses sometimes... That must be some bug in the game I think...

Do you have the latest patch? To get it, start PU, go to Multiplayer, select Internet, it will now look for an update, select ok/yes or whatever to install the patch. The game will now close and after a little time an app will start that downloads and installs the patch.

I had the same problem with my Porsche Unleashed on my T-Bird 1ghz/Geforce 2, specifically freezing on the Normandie track. But I did something that stopped the game from crashing their and in lots of other places. Turn off lens flare! This really helped out.
