There's a Daimler-Chrysler news/upcoming vehicle site that I believe NFS4 had linked too before. I've hit up Google and found some basic info, but would like more. If anyone is interested I'd apprecitate it.

Thanks Iamwiz82!

I'd heard some of that, do you have a link for pricing and options?

no, it was just released last week. I know base MSRP is $24K. It is about the same as a Sahara. This does NOT include A/C, dual tops, or auto. I dont know if option pricing was released yet. Official production begins 8-5, i think. I know there are a ton of them already done and in the hands of DCX employees:)()

EDIT: n/m, DCX released it to the public.

The Rubicon name isn't just for a Class 10 off-road trail anymore it's also what the Jeep® brand is calling their ultimate off-road rig. With production beginning next month, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon model features Tru-Lok® locking front and rear differentials, front and rear Dana 44 axles and a Rock-Trac® 4:1 low range transfer case - all starting at $24,995, which includes destination. While its beefy off-road tires and diamond plate sill protectors hint at the tremendous capability of the 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, it's the underpinnings that make it worthy of wearing the Rubicon name.

EDIT 2: Invoice price is $22,000 not bad at all.

I'm thinking about replacing my Cherokee... How does the Liberty fair in reviews? I love my Cherokee, and I plan to drive it into the ground, but when the day comes, will I be able to stick with a Jeep?

If I were to get a Liberty, I would check out this model before any other Liberty.

BUT, those step rails have to go. :)

1996 Cherokee Sport with just over 70K miles. It has power windows, doors, steering. I put in a full-size spare (screw the donut) and a CD player. I don't really do much off-roading, but I like the Cherokee for the cargo room. If they were still making the Cherokee's, I'd just get another one. I'm not interested in a Grand... I've heard some bad things. I like having the 4-wheel drive for winter weather (northern Indiana), and just in case I want to get out into some mud or go to the mountains for some fishing. The Wrangler just doesn't have the cargo room that I want though.

N8- I like that model... Hmmm....

well, the Liberty does not ride like a Jeep, so dont expect that. It rides like a car. That is my main reason to hate it :). Aftermarket suspension could always fix that!

BTW, your Jeep should have a long life ahead of it. The 4.0(or do you have the 2.5?) is a tough engine. They say it can hit 300k without a problem.

I saw one at the Jeep dealer last week. It was like an olive green color and had some tacky running boards on it.

I have the 4.0 L High Output In-line 6. 300K miles you say? That is great news. Ideally I'd like to drive that car for five more years... I've got four more years of grad school, and when I'm done I'll probably want to work for a year with my PhD and earn some money. Who knows, by then I might buy a Toyota 4-Runner.

Thanks for the info on the Liberty. I guess I would just have to test drive one and see how I like it. It really is too bad that they got rid of the Cherokee line.
