I've done OK with keyboard/mouse.
It can be very challenging online (I haven't managed to do hugely well, but not been too bad).
Haven't tried with my wheel though (too much hassle).

A keyboard is fine for arcade racers like NFSU. More realistic simulations pretty much require a wheel or some form of analog control, though.

keyboard is just fine...didn't even use the mouse the whole time besides in the menus buying stuff (and only then when selecting certain colors)

Beat it 3 and 3/4 on hard btw with keyboard.

Logitech Wingman cordless gamepad (wid the rumble on). Use the KB if you want.....but it's better with a gamepad on yer lap.

I bought the Logitech USB controller and it worked out much much better than the KB. Its only $20. If you play BFV or BF:1942 it works great in there too.

I was doing fine with the keyboard, and so thought I needed the Logitech $40 Steering wheel and foot pedals. The steering wheel was loose and not very good at all. After 2 days it lost calibration and they claim the only way to calibrate is to reinstall it. That's BS. I went back to the keyboard and learned my lesson. I'm sure if you get one of the expensive wheels it will be a lot different.

i use keyboard only, fine.

PROBLEM

i have just run the 4MB patch, and now the game hangs with a mouse pointer over a blank screen.

i've just emailed EA and told them about it - has anyone else experienced this?

when i ran the patch i got "missing or invalid registry entry"

d'oh.
