At last, it seems that a decent racing game has landed on the PC. But before I go and get it, I'd like to know if all the fancy screenshots available require a DX8 ou DX9 video card (I'm still stuck with a DX7 card...).

Also, the game comes on how many CDs? Is it really a big game or a smallish game with a lot of eyecandies?

Yeah I played the demo... the game seems pretty damn cool.

Heh the first time I played it, I hit the NOS in 1st gear and shortly thereafter blew the engine ;)

Just picked it up today for the PS2, and my initial impressions are good. They don't give you much to customize your car from the start, but that's the beauty of unlocking things. Just unlocked the ability to add vinyls to my car, and that alone makes any car look different. It really reminds me of the create-a-player on wrestling games.

From what I've heard, it's very similar to NFS:HP2. So, if you're like me, a Porche Unleashed nut, you'll probably be sorely dissapointed.

Exactly. I played the demo and it was nothing more than Fast and the Furious for computer geeks.

Nope, it's nothing like NFSHP2.... This game is SO much worse. Handling is awful and uncontrollable... Graphics are somehow worse than NFSHP2... I hate this game. With a passion. Stupid ricer cars too. I want a Viper.

dat sucks.. they should have used the Porche Unleashed engine..

the grafix on Underground look weird to me ... is the entire game at night??? the roads look too shiny and reflective like you are driving on ice.

played it for PC :) If you were looking forward to this game, it wont dissapoint you. If you don't like ricers, then stay away, because obviously this game isn't meant for you.

Well, that's usually when street racing takes place ;)

I just played the demo... the drag mode got me frustrated trying to work around that train...
Wasn't that impressed with the physics - I won't be happy until I get Gran Turismo 4 :D

*goes back to Live For Speed....*

I laughed for a good couple of minutes when I first saw the idea for it.

OMG t0t411y w00t0rz you can customize your 4 banger Civic....

Then I downloaded the demo and played, and although I hated the idea of driving a 350z rather than a F360 spider, the gameplay was pretty good... especially drag mode.

They should have called it Need for Speed: Elvis Stojko Edition. Hint - the cars in MC2 don't drive like they're on figure skates. That's a good thing. :p

Yeah I played a bit of multi.

Basically you challenge other racers while connected to a server, and the winner gets a certain amount of points (usually around 13), you can then move up in rankings. If you lose the race you dont lose any points...
