I was just wondering how you guys manage to get away from the police when you get your heat level up a little bit. I don't even have to get that high.. .I struggle at heat level 2 and can't get away on heat level 3. The roadblocks aren't usually too much trouble, but can be a pain at times but my real problem is that there are just too many of them. I try to find the pursuit breakers and hit them as often as possible but it seems to do very little for me. Every now and then I take out a pursuing cop but there are always more and I just can't get out of their line of sight. They go as fast as I do even if I use the Nitrous.

So what are the secrets? :)

Just wondering how you guys handle them.

well a lot of it depends on the car you are driving.

I find the EVO, lambo, and porsch GT great at police evasion. The EVO and lambo due to their all wheel drive grip and acceleration, and the GT for it's sheer ability to kickass.

i havent had any problems. i had a level 5 chase last for 30 minutes, and it was easy with my porsche GT. it was really fun. so many of those corvette cops. i destroyed 50 cop cars, and bumped 80. hell yeah. i evaded and got all the milestones from the one chase. i just stick to the highways and big roads mostly, its easier that way.

You need to know how to drive for one thing. If you're hitting everything and have a boat for a car you're not going to be too well off.

Second would be you need a good car. Some cars are better at running through blocks (such as heavier or AWD cars), whereas some are just so fast you can actually outpace even the fastest level 5 cars (although you really need to know how to drive, maintaining 190+ on the highways)

As far as the pursuit breakers, you need to make sure that the cops are RIGHT on your tail when you hit them, otherwise they'll just drive around the mess you created and keep coming after you.

As was mentioned before, stick to the highways until you've accomplished your goal, then you can dip into the city to hit some pursuit breakers or lose them around corners and dive into a hiding spot or safe house.

Another trick is to just sit when you've finally ducked out of sight. You can often sit on something like an exit ramp or back alley until you cool off instead of risking a sprint to a hiding spot or safe house where there might be cop cars along the way to reengage you. Obviously it takes longer to cool down but I've successfully done it more often than not.

The last trick would be to find an area such as the bus station where you can smash into it and drive up the ramps, sitting up there until you've "lost" the cops. Granted several times I've done this the cops were right in the bus station with me but are too dumb to make it up the ramp. Sometimes you need to drive around up there so you keep out of their line of sight. Once thats done you can just jump to your safehouse and you're safe. There are other areas just like this, you just have to find them.

are you kidding lol? i find it hard keeping the cops on me untill level 4. i have drive like a granny at levels 1 n 2 for them to keep up.

level 5 is pretty bad-ass though, and right at the end of the game you get level 6 which is just insane....that took a few attempts

well I'm driving the Supra that I got from a pink slip on the blacklist #13 guy.. so no my car isn't the greatest but I'll hit top speed and add on some Nitro and if a cop is right on me he'll stay right on me. Granted this car can't do 190.

anyway thanks for the advice... sounds like it's just practice and not really any techniques that I haven't discovered :)

there are too many on you because they've called in backup. Try not to have your pursuits last so long that they call in backup (with the timer on the bottom).

Since winning the Baron's Porsche I'm doing better with the evasions. I still get shutdown sometimes though in heat level 3. The thing that sucks is that I'll hit a pursuit breaker and take out the pursuing cops and another cop will spawn right there in front of me... then I'll lose him and another will spawn ... and so on and so on... I can never get rid of them for more than a second or two so I can't get to a hiding spot. Yesterday I got rid of the last cop and took a sharp turn to get into a hiding spot behind a wall and there was a cop right htere behind the wall waiting for me (wasn't on the radar until that second so I guess he just spawned there as I was ducking in). Cops in hiding spots, not good :)

Jumps at high speed are always good.
Keep an eye on your maps too...you'll start to learn spots where the cops are too stupid to go. Roadblock rodeos are a great way to get rid of a lot of cops -- run the block, turn around, then keep hitting the cars that are still alive. In most cases cars that make up the road block won't start chasing you and you can get your pursuers to be damaged 'cause they'll hit the roadblock too.

BTW: don't use a light car for this - I like the AMG or audi....
