That's standard fare in games - to compensate for certain inabilities of the AI, it is given other capabilities superior to the user's. Look at old games like Mario - the computer players were outright stupid, but there were just a lot of them. Bosses in games - instead of being exceptionally smart, they just have lots of firepower and armor. Or in one flight simulator I play, the computer players have a very basic missile evasion tactic, and sometime it smacks them right into the ground. How to compensate for this? Program a smarter AI? Nah. Just program it so that a ground impact won't destroy the computer's planes. Brilliant....

I had one "bug" show up today, in a Milestone event, "knockout":
I was second in last lap, passing a Police station, next to a bus stop, when I hit an invisible (car, truck, building?) <enter word here>
I have no clue, but it was in the middle of the street, and about 10 ft wide, sparks flew off it when I impacted it @ 120mph and stopped me cold.
Tried to go around it, and kept hitting something for about a minute, 'till I finally got unhung from it and went around, losing the race (of course).
I doubled back after about 20 secs to see if I could hit it from opposite direction, but it was gone.
First time this has happened in any game I have. Weird Man.
