I just got my free copy of vista today, I know I can't resale it but will I be able to transfer the install like the retail copy or will it only let me transfer once like an OEM install? Any one know before I install it. If it only has one transfer I'll wait until after my next upgrade cycle.

I keep seeing people state that you can transfer Vista OEM one time. I am not referring to selling the computer with Vista preloaded. I am referring to you installing it on one pc, then you get a new pc (or upgraded motherboard) and try to install/activate it a 2nd time. Please link me to the source. :)

Reinstalling on the same computer 100 times is fine; transferring it to a new computer is not. However I have seen some people say that you can transfer Vista OEM from one pc to a new computer one time, but nobody has been able to provide a factual link from MS stating that to be the case.

Wouldn't a new motherboard and CPU be considered a new computer? So if you upgrade your computer your expected to buy a new Vista?

I'm guessing that people are getting confused with the preliminary retail licensing terms. Remember? They were only going to allow 1 transfer, but they then backed off after massive complaints.
