I tried it, no problem at all, except that there is no drivers yet for my printer, scanner, capture card, sound card, ... so, not very usefull for now. But it was stable, and well compatible with older apps.

But, install it on another partition, dual booting with the "real" XP partition so you could still continue to use your computer for something else that internet and some testing...

Yeah it's very stable. . .because you can't do anything on it since there are no drivers for anything!

this system i'm assembling will be running GeForce 6600GT, and there are drivers for that here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp64_77.72.html, and its an nForce4, so there's drivers for that here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp64_amd_6.66.html

what else do you exactly need to get off the ground and running with regards to general internet applications and games like Doom 3, Half-Life2, and/or Battlefield 2?
