"the BIOS doesn't support rev E (In other words, you may have a good board, but the BIOS is pretty old), you will likely need to install a pre-rev E (AKA-130nm) AMD processor to flash the BIOS."

thats a joke and/or asinine. Im buying a total new system- nforce 4 ultra mobo and dual core cpu and I dont have an old amd cpu. And im not friggen buying an old one, just to update the bios. so what am I supposed to do? Mailing the bios chip looks like bs to me. so anyone know if I buy a new n4 ultra mobo- which ones are now shipping with an updated bios? or do they even do that?

I could be wrong, but I think that just concerns older boards. If you bought a new board now, I'd imagine that it would work fine, but most likely it would only utilize one core of the x2 until you flashed the BIOS.

Exactly. Unless you are buying OLD stock of one of the earliest NF4 boards, that'll hardly be a problem.
