nforce4 or wait for nforce 430

hello guys,
i'm planning to build a x2 3800+ system for gaming, encoding, and other uses. should i buy an nforce4 mobo now or wait for the nforce430 mobo to come out? would there be any differences in overclocking or stability? thanks.

I am not aware that nforce 430 will be offered as a single chip solution. Nforce 430 is a MCP southbridge solution to Nvidia's 6100/6150 integrated graphic solution. In my opinion it's a great HTPC setup if DVI is offered. Your best bet is the nforce4 SLI or Ultra. These boards will be dropping price soon thanks to Dell pushing 36 pci-x lanes. There are no noticable improvements with that much bandwidth though. No one knows the difference in overclocking abilities, but DFI should give you plenty of room to oc, even the Asus and Abit are decent overclockers.

That's the 939 sli Premium ASus board, not the deluxe or other boards... There's a very large diference in oc'ability between the prem and del.

so what you guys recommend is that i get an nf4 chipset, possibly the asus premium, and avoid gigabyte boards. thank you for the replies!
