nForce4 chipset temperature?

Has anyone measured what their chipset temperature are? (the chip itself has not thermal diode to read this, so you will have to rely on an external probe).
During my rearrangement of the system cooling I have been measuring my temperatures with a Passive Zalman 47J chipset heatsink. At 54C and about 5 minutes of idling, I decided it was running too hot for my tastes.

However I do not know what is considered normal temperatures and what is the upper limit for these chips?

At the moment I have added a small fan to the Zalman in order to blow air through it, which keeps me at a more comfortable 38-41C, idle. It goes up to about 43C during gaming and heavy load.

I would appreciate feedback on temperatures from those of you who have measured their chipset temperature.

I thought so too.

Too bad, it means that I can not use passive cooling on this board as I had originally planned :
Somehow I have to find a way to get the noise level down but still keep the chipset cool.

The NF4 does has an onboard temp sensor. Mine is running 60c all the time and it's fine. It's either that or I listen to the whine of a 4000+ RPM fan. No thanks, I have it turned down to about 3000.

There's no reason these chipsets can't as hot as an athlon XP, I'm pretty sure it's the same process size.
