nForce4 and DiamondMax 10 drives

From what I'm gathering around the net, the nForce 4 has some serious issues with this hard drive. I have an Abit AN8 and it won't see any of the 4 of these drives I posess. As I understand the DFI LanParty board is having similar issues, as a friend of mine is encountering something very similar. DFI, like Abit in my case, suggests it's something nVidia has to address.

Is anyone having this issue here? nVidia, of course, told me to see my motherboard manufacturer for support. I'm basically screwed with these lovely 4 drives until I decide to pony up and buy a 4 port RAID card, or wait until nVidia decides to address the issue.

Hopefully someone <hint> will write a scathing story about how this chipset just totally fails with this drive and cause them to take notice. 😉

Configuration:

Athlon64 4000+
1GB Corsair DDR
4 250GB DiamondMax 10 paperweights
2 200GB DiamondMax 9's that work flawlessly
ATI X850 Pro
Audigy 2
Abit AN8 Motherboard
DVD/CD

i dont know...my DiamondMax10 has been working fine with my a8n-sli deluxe mobo for 4 months now. once i tried to update the bios and it wouldn't detect my hard drive. i turned it off for about 16 hours then turned it back on and it was detected again. crazy. i flashed back to the original 1001 bios and i haven't had any problems since. i'm not going to touch it either. maxtor's supposed to provide a new sata boot rom or something to fix it.
