as of now there are like 3 options for socket 939's. the MSI, the EPOX, and the Gigabyte.

MSI-i hate MSI motherboards, out of the question

EPOX- anandtech rated it as less than stellar, out of the question

Gigabyte- not paying $200 for a mobo.

will there ever be more companies that cone out with the nforce3 socket 939? nforce4 is out of the question for me as i have an AGP 6800GT, so i am really waiting for a good solid nforce3 939 but im not sure if anything is coming out. is there hope for me?

i'm pretty sure there will be. mobo companies would be really dumb to just stop with agp out of the blue. i believe nforce 3 AND nforce 4 will both be mainstream in the market. the only real benefit nforce 4 has over nforce 3 is pci-e. other then taht, nforce 3 technically isnt dead at all.

I'm waiting to see if Abit is going to offer a NF3 939 here .... and if they don't, I've got time to wait to see what we have to choose from.

Running a Abit NF7-S 2.0 w/Athlon 2400+ M @ 2.4GHz here. But my next upgrade will be the AMD 939 / NF3 based system.

The Epox board review had this in the final thought ... FYI :

In the overclocking area, the Epox 9NDA3+ does stand out though. The Epox matches the fastest 939 that we have tested in the maximum overclock we could achieve and in the highest clock speed that we could reach. Matching the MSI K8N Neo2 in overclocking is no small feat, but the 9NDA3+ proved up to the task in every overclocking test.
