Anyone has had experiences overclocking an nForce3 S939 motherboard with all 4 DIMM slots populated?

This is a critical question I have for my coming upgrade. I have 2x256 BH5 Kingston HyperX modules, and I really love them, I have the oportunity to buy two more of this same modules for my upgrade, but I dont know how well does nForce3 Mobos performs with all dimm slots used.

Any thoughts? If not I will have to sell my memories and by a couple of 512mb TCCDs :(

From what I have read the current 939 mobo's will only run 4 sticks if you use a 2T command rate setting in bios. And there seems to be quite a performance hit going from 1T to 2T. And it seems many of the boards won't run in dual channel mode with 4 sticks.

I have also read that most 939 mobo's seem to get better overclocking results depending on which slots you use. Some like slots 3 & 4, some like 1 & 2 etc... Do your homework on the board that you will be buying.

I think your safest bet would be 2x512

yeah, running at DDR333 and 2T just isn't worth it to use 4 sticks. Just go with 2 sticks, then upgrade when prices are cheaper.

Yes you can, but why would you want to. You have to overcome huge speed ecreases with 2T and what not.
