nForce2 drivers will not install

Downloaded both WHQL US english and International versions, it extracts to C:\nvidia, launches setup.exe but nothing appears after that?! 😕

# "Download Accelerator" utilities should be disabled when downloading any drivers.

# Do not run virus protection software in the background while installing the drivers. This prevents the driver from configuring itself properly.

# Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA display drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start Menu > Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for "NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select remove.

Don't have download accelerators, disabled NAV and Kerio firewall, and don't have any NVIDIA Display Drivers...

😕

I dont even bother with any new nForce 2 drivers, the last one I downloaded made it so my DVD drive wasnt reading, sound was cut off completly and every game would crash on me non stop.

Whats even more funny is WIndows Update tries to feed me the same nForce 2 driver.

Could be a bad d/l. If you have the original driver disk that came with the mobo, use it first. Then try the update

I don't use winXP, maybe you need sp1 or 2?

Are you burning the updated drivers to a cd etc.?

Thats the only way I do it any more (last couple of years). If not try it

The only install problems I have ever had were with 98se, but it's a glitch in the install proggie and shouldn't affect you anyway.

Funny, but I don't remember ever having to uninstall any display drivers to update. Then again, I'm not using winXP
