I've reinstalled Windows 4 times because of this.

Here is my install order:

1 - WinXP
2 - SP1
3 - nForce2 drivers

I've tried the CD copy that came with my Epox 8RDA+, and the 2.03s from nVidia. Both cause this problem:

Windows does not keep any changes I make to the registry! Everything reverts back when I reboot! Example: If I change my browser homepage, it'll revert back once I reboot. If I tell it to save my dial-up password it says : "Error 1016: Cannot save password.. system cannot write to the registry."

Why is this? I am FRUSTRATED! Please help!

Can you confirm that you're still an Administrator-class user in User Manager (assuming WinXP Pro)?

Yes guys, I am the system Administrator. It is WinXP pro. I just uninstalled the nVidia Utilities, that seemed to fix most things - I can now change settings such as Windows Update, System Recovery, Sound themes, etc... but it still will not keep changes I make to my IE homepage.

....

Oh well...

Thanks for replying...

Any other possible ideas?
