the 8rda (non plus) has the regulard MCP southbridge..

the 8rda+ has the MPC-T, and is soundstorm "equipped". I think the 8rda+ is the equivelant board to the FIC.

I'd probably go for the ABit board (NF7-S) as long as it is the V1.1 (HSF holes)

I have come to trust the hardware of ABit and ASUS above the rest.
(quality components that many reviewers tend to overlook
... all caps. resistors, transistors, SPSs are NOT created equal!)
These are differences that I believe lead to longer life, higher odds for Out of the Box operation, etc... Despite
other "less-expensive" boards appearing to function just as well when they are brand new.

However, ASUS has NO support to speak of and that makes the final choice for me.
I usually grit my teeth, and fork it over to ABit.

(Softmenu III also helps keep me looking to ABit for solutions. It is so easy to work with :) )
