Nforce2 and an ATI Card??

Do nvidia video cards get enhanced by nforce2 motherboards at all??? my friend keeps telling me that it does but I just want to find out before I buy my videocard.

He keeps telling me to get nvidia instead of ATI because nforce2 enhances it and it will be better?

He means nvidia didn't intentionally cripple other manufacturers cards in favor of their own in nforce2. Your buddy doen't know what he is talking about. I am running a 9700 pro and it is amazingly fast in that board.

Nvidia doesnt stick ati killing code into there chip if that's what your trying to say. It will work fantastically with either brand card.

I didn't mean that nvidia makes the ati cards run worse, but that the nforce2 enhances nvidia cards. ..hehe..misunderstanding...I was wondering like for example...would a geforce ti 4200 run better on an nforce2 board in anyway? My friend says that it will so don't get an ati card cuz nvidia cards will run even better on nforce2 board.

No there is no "nvidia graphics card enhancing code" in the nvidia nforce chipsets. What could they do "enhance" it? It's not like you can somehow squeeze extra graphics features out of it or anything.

An nVidia card would probably work better in a nForce 2 mobo than another mobo, but so would any other cards, because the nForce 2 boards are meant to be pretty damned good, no other reason.

with so few nforce products out in the market that would be unwise.

You know, if they did that, it would only hurt them because if a person wants to use an ATI they'll probably sacrifice the mobo for something else that performs like it. And then, there will be plenty of OEM's to make it how it should be made without it so they will only lose their own sales.

Oh yeah, if they did that, it would be a very dirty trick and put a big dent in their history.
