1.) What slots do I need to have the ram in to enable dual channel? I read some where slots 1 and 3. Is this true?

2.) I have a TBSC installed, and the 3 to the bottom PCI slot. After installing all drivers etc... there is an exclamation point in device manager under "Santa Cruz Game Port". I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. In the bios I have onboard audio set to disable. The reason windows gives me for the exclamation point is not enough resources. I tried to manually set it but still no luck.

Should I try moving the TBSC to another PCI slot?

Thanks!

1. Dual channel will work with DIMMs 1 & 3, 1 & 2, and all three filled. Single channel would be either a single stick application, or DIMM 2 & 3 populated.

2. If the Abit is like the most other Nforce2 boards, you also need to disable the gameport in addition to the onboard sound in the bios.

Wow that was quick Insane.

However I can't find the game port in bios? Going to check my manual.

Forget it. Just ignore the exclamation point and just use the on-board midi port. There's nothing you can do. This is a problem with the nForce2 and various sound cards. Something about the nForce2 not relinquishing the resources whenever it detects another midi port. This has been covered several times over at nforcershq.com and athlonmb.com.

Just FYI, this happens with the Audigy/Audigy2 as well. Creative had to implement a weird driver fix to work-around the problem. Unfortunately, since Voyetra is not longer releasing any drivers for the SC, you're pretty much stuck.

I see. That would explain it. There is nothing wrong other then the exclamation point, and game port (which I won't use anyway). I just hate to see any exclamation points in DM.

I don't have any problem using Philips soundcards on my 8RDA+'s... I also have MIDI and the Gameport disabled in my bios. There should be an option for both in the bios unless Abit is using a non-standard Award bios.

It's not specific to Abit. Epox and Asus owners have this problem too. It doesn't matter how many devices you have enabled/disabled in the BIOS. It's a software issue with the drivers.

Issue with what drivers? Nvidia or the sound card? Like I said, with my Philips AE and SE this does not occur if I disable the onboard sound, MIDI port, and the Gameport.
