I have 2x 256mb sticks of memory, and a 512mb stick. Would my computer be faster if i used the dual channel memory witht he 256 sticks totaling 512 mb, or would it be faster with the 1bg or ram? Keep in mind i would have to turn on virtual memory if i only have 512 total.

I believe you can run dual channel with all 3 sticks populated with your setup. Refer to your manual and see how you should lay it out. Dual channel does almost nothing on nForce 2 boards and the 1GB single channel is a much better idea than 512MB dual channel.

I would leave virtual memory on regardless...

U can run dual channel with these 3 sticks. Put the 2 256MB ones into the two slots that are close together and the 512 BM one in the outer slot. Nforce2 will then combine the two close slots into one channel and thus u have dual channel. Works like a charm on my Shuttle AN35N-U. So u have 1GB RAM _and_ dual channel :D
