After installing sp2 I had some issues with my gart driver so I uninstalled it, then tried to reinstall using the 4.24's 4.27's and the ones on my asus cd, all installations crash once the installshield opens up so currently running without that driver. This is after going to sp2. Not having problems with other installs (even installing the 4.8cats went fine). Any suggestions on how to get that driver installed would be much appreciated.

Try installing it in safe mode. It`s also possible that your anti-virus software might be interfering with the install as well ,so disable your AV software while installing to be sure.

have disabled antivirus to no effect, also have tried from safe mode. Safe mode wont even start the install, in regular windows it gets to the point where nvidias install program takes over for install shield and then just stops.

disabled every single program that i could and even shut down some unnecesary services, same exact issue. Thining about trying to install the drivers on one of my other machines (which dont have the same chipset, but just curious to see how far the instalation would go).

did you try installing a diff version of the gart, i.e. the one on Asus/nvidia's site (vice-versa)?

I'm seeing the same behavior as you. nForce_4.27... unzips to 4.24 directory, and then begins install.

After NVidia splash screen I get an installation screen that blasts through a progress bar so fast that I can't read anything, and then the install exits.

jkresh, extract the Nvidia driver package with WinRAR,then go to Device Manager via Control Panel ,then to system devices tree in Device manager(AGP is in there" AGP host to PCI bridge") and select properties and then select update driver and point it to the AGP driver in the extracted Nvidia forceware pakgage.
