My update was uneventful, and everything has checked out so far. Wondering if I just missed it before<possible:)>, or is the NV IDE speed test new?

Anyway, prior to any defrag or anything my 1/2 full 40GB maxtor (2MB cache) on this rig gets properly recognised UDMA 6:
89 Burst
41.6 Sustained

The IDE driver is the same one as in the 4.24 UDP Mem. The speed test has been there all along IIRC. This release confuses me. :( My remix has more new components in it than the new official UDP does. I might take advantage of the new audio driver/utility though.

there were no changes to this driver set... its the same thing the 4.24 are.

"If you have previously downloaded the 4.24 English kit, there is no need to download this English kit below since it is the same drivers as in 4.24."

The first sentences on the drivers website.

One thing about the IDE driver in the new UDP I noticed, it's WHQL certified (per the d/l page) whereas the same driver is not WHQL certified (per the d/l page). I wonder if it really wasn't WHQL certified before?

Well, the audio driver revision changed but damned if I can spot a difference in the release notes over the last set. It's the same text...

I'm sticking with my 4.35s for now.

Looks like all that got an update was the audio and ethernet stuff. Everything else is the same, including the still-buggy IDE drivers.

Those IDE drivers are actually NOT buggy. Many users at nForcersHQ forums are using the SW IDE drivers with very good results.

This updated ethernet driver fixed my cpu spiking problem. The 2.45 ethernet I was using had spikes but was not as bad. So I'm happy with these drivers. There seems to be some confusion between the 4.27 english and international version. Discussion at Nforcerhq saying 4.27 english version does not have the updated files for audio and ethernet but 4.27 International drivers do.

That's true. The English 4.27 driver has the same files in it as the 4.27 drivers. You can only see this if you d/l the file and look at the .infs.

Yeah hopefully they will fix it or lot of people will not know about it =). It's weird how the other leaked versions had some newer updated drivers for IDE, GART, etc.

Megatomic, yes I know, but you still have the option to install the SW IDE or not,and with a over the top upgrade I always look for problems, but so far all the nForce drivers have been solid even in my online gaming tests, but then I should know better being these are official drivers and not the beta stuff ;).

My drivers may be "beta" but each component is WHQL certified. That's good enough for me. :D Plus I test each driver thoroughly with many hours of grueling gaming and Prime95 and regular usage. My remix is the best you can get currently IMHO.

I had the 4.12 IDE drivers installed - while I was burning a CD, the computer would be unusable - about every two seconds, the entire system would lock hard for 5 seconds. The disc burned fine - but the system was unusable for the duration. And yes, DMA was enabled. I went back to the default Windows drivers, and now CD burning is not a problem at all.

As most have likely already concluded, this is just the international version and contains fixes in 15+ languages.

There is a discussion about an error here

Taken from nForcersHQ,
Everything checked out fine, after installing the international UDP, not the english only version. BUT, check your ehternet driver. mine says, 4.3.6.0, not 4.4.2.0.............
.

Mine also says 4.3.6.0 for ethernet driver and not 4.4.2.0,used the international version btw for the 4.27s.

Btw after updating my nForce drivers and running the " NVSwap" utility program,I noticed that my centre speaker and bass sound was reversed again,so I recommend you check that you`re getting the right sound from your bass(sub) and centre speaker by running NVSwap utility program.

Look in Device Manager then IDE Controller, under that right click on the Nvidia controller & select properties and you`ll see it under primary and secondary channel tab.

wierd, it says my driver for those are microsoft drivers, not NVIDIA ones

You didn`t install the Nvidia SW IDE drivers, you`re using the default Microsoft ones then,on install of the nForce drivers you`ve the option to install the SW IDE drivers or go with the Microsoft default ones.

o there an option? well if im not getting any problems, should i keep with what i have? or are the nvidia ones better?

Good question, the SW IDE drivers are supposed to give better performance, however some people find they have stability or CDRW burning problems, bottom line is try them for yourself, you can always roll back to the default Microsoft ones.I can only speak for myself ,but so far the SW IDE drivers have been very stable in my PC.
