Hey guys, first post here!:)

I hope you can help.
I just built a computer with an Abit NF7-S mobo nforce2 chipset, xp 2400 cpu, 256 mb ram, ATI Radeon 9500 pro, Win98.

When I play games...Nascar racing 2003 demo, Max Payne, GTA 3, I even tried Midtown Madness...The video plays wonderful but as soon as any sound is played the computer may lock up or else it will just slow to a snails pace then I have to kill the game and everything is fine. I can play the games fine without sound but what fun is that?

Another thing, when I play video in Windows media player, the video is all choppy, I can watch the timer skipping seconds and stuff but when I play the same video in quicktime or realone player everything is fine.

One more thing, when I go to install the latest nforce drivers that I dl'd from nvidia, it first starts out trying to install the 40.72 display drivers, well I don't have an nvidia board, it tells me that an error occured and shuts down. I wish it would give me a checkbox on which drivers I want to install. I had to install the chipset drivers from the cd. They installed fine and there isn't a display driver on the cd.

Well, what do ya think? Any hope for me?

Thanks for any help you can give.
