I was about to buy a MSI K8N Neo Platinum, but then started reading about the problems associated with playing punkbuster enabled games online with this board (or any nforce 3 board?). I don't know the exact details, but I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about.

What happened with this situation? Has it been determined what was at fault? And has a fix been produced?

I'm just after an update as to what was happening so I can decide whether to get this board or start the search for a motherboard all over again. I want to upgrade very soon.

most likely has to do with built in firewall which can be disabeled, or if you can figure out what ports you need to open that can be done aswell.

The problem is almost certainly a punkbuster bug. I've read some people with Intel chipsets are having problems with it too.

Thanks for the responses.

DAPUNISHER, has punkbuster admitted fault yet (and begun working on a fix)?

I just dont want to buy a board and then find out I can't play games online because of something silly like this. But I really want to have my upgrades done within the next couple of weeks max.
