That's basically my question. This 1.4 GHz one will be from Gateway. I was just wondering if there is anything stopping me from changing the motherboard later on in the year that has an nForce chipset and combining it with a 1.4 GHz Athlon.

Thanks

Because I can go to one of their stores and get a free VisionTek GeForce 3 card with the deal if I simply spend $100 more than the base price of their 1.4 GHz system.

I can't seem to find the form factor for the Gateway Select 1400 online Noriaki. I'll keep searching.

You should be able to make the transition (the older CPU should work with the newer chipset). Buying from a Dell or a Gateway used to be a little interesting, but they have become much more standard about things so that upgrades are much easier to accomplish.

I just want to make sure I have the proper cooling for this T-bird. Because if I change up the whole motherboard (with nForce chipset) I don't want any bad cooling or damage to be inflicted on any of the parts.
