I can't seem to download or send any e-mails. At first, I also couldn't get Norton's Live Update to work until I disabled the nVidia Firewall.

I disabled the nVidia Firewall but I still can't get my e-mail to work properly. It says that it is allowing the e-mail client to get through. What am I doing wrong?
 
If you do a "telnet mymail.server.com pop3" -- does it connect at all?

Have you installed other security products, like "Norton Anti-Internet" or similar?
 
You may have a defective (or cranky) Nvidia nic. Upgrade Nvidia drivers to newest "stand alone" version. Try disabling Active Armor. If all else fails, use other (Marvell) nic. That usually works but you lose the firewall function, so have a software one ready.
