Anyone read the article on NForce Data Corruption at
forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t8171.html

Looks like it mainly affects Hitachi and Maxtor Hard drives but other drives have also been affected.

One guy wrote "In my opinion there is something real bad in the way nForce4 chipset manages the buses, either it is SATA channel, PATA channel, RAM channel, LAN port, or other. I think that guys at Nvidia really don't know what to do now and the last (6.70) released driver is an attempt to verify if removing PATA driver is a chance to have a stable system."

Maybe I'll have onto my AX8 with the Via chipset a little while longer. :D

I havent heard of anything on the NF4 chipset, but I did experience some data corruption on my NF3 chipset while overclocking. On hte NF3, the ports werent locked for overclocking, but I thought that was fixed on the NF4 chipset.

If Nvidia doesn't resolve these nForce4 issues soon, this tax season I'm jumping ship to VIA or ATI, or just possibly an Intel solution.
I shut down my system the other night; a clean shutdown; turned on my system the next morning, and I got the "Your system was not shut down properly" error..
That is oblivious.. these data corruption issues should not be happening. My last Intel system, I could rest assure that when I load the Intel chipset drivers, that everything will function and fuction in a stable matter.
With such a large, user installed base on nForce motherboards, I would figure that Nvidia could devote the time, energy and resources into developing a set of drivers that will function, and function when all applications are loaded.. not just half @$$
