Found this at the Inquirer:

<< Our friends at Asus are already shipping products - and so is MSI (Microstar), with Asus pushing out the Asus - A7N266, Asus - A7N266e, and MSI merrily flogging the very stable MS6367 uATX (420D + LAN), MS6367 uATX (220D without Lan), and MS6373 ATX (420D + LAN). >>

That's good to hear that allready one manufacturer is making a 220-D solution, along with 420-D. Just passing this along

Awesome. At least one top tier manufacturer will have a 220-D, which is what I'll get if they're aren't any major issues. 🙂

Why in the world would they make a micro ATX board (MS6367/220D) without LAN?

I was thinking that too.

Yea. I know, but still it is a 220 board and that should be in the $100-130 range right with KT266A. So that's good. Prolly one of these boards will be my Winter Upgrade from my KM133.

It looks like it. Well, at least it better well damn be. :disgust:😀😉

But take a closer look at that micro ATX 220D board. I'll assume it a 3 PCI/1 AGP/1 CNR-AMR-ACR board and it's using standard PCI slot interrupt sharing/assignments. If you're using an AGP video card, you practically can't use the PCI 1 slot without looking for trouble; if you've got a Blorb it's blocked anyways. That leaves two PCI slots. Use one slot for the LAN NIC. Leaves one slot for a modem/RAID or whatever. Leaving no slots available. Also raises the question of how all the outputs for the DD sound are implemented. If they're using the reference ACR card it's even worse.

Not real swift.

how far away are they gonna hit the stores?

i am looking at the MSI microATX w/ sound + NIC cuz all i will need is maybe USB card and Radeon 8500 (i know it flopped 🙁 but oh well)

Well, that could be an issue. It is clearly not aimed at the Enthusiast. But it might still be ok for ppl like me, who don't need high-end video at all. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.
