nForce 420 vs. TNT2U???

Rogue

I can't seem to find any comparisons of these two chipsets, but I would like to know if upgrading from my current KX133 w/ Slot-A 700MHz system w/ a TNT2U vid card to an nForce system with the integrated video would be a decent step up. Can't seem to find head-to-head comparison of TNT2U vs. GF2(nForce) anywhere. Can someone help me out?

The nForce uses a 32MB GF2 MX which will outperform your TNT2U. You would need a new cpu to run the nForce board.

Yeah, I know I need a new CPU. I was building systems back when the Cyrix 6x86 processors were burnin' up the scene (literally)😉. I'm looking for an upgrade that is gonna increase performance in games initially but also with the ability to upgrade further in the future by way of the AGP slot. I don't have the money to spare right now to buy a GF2 card w/ mobo and proc all at the same time. nForce and proc fits the bill now and for the future. I suppose I could go the SiS route w/ a GF2 card, but the nForce is more appealing to me with the integrated audio also. I'm using the KX133 audio right now, so anything is a step up in that area!

I would skip the NForce and get a KT266A based board and a GeForce 2 GTS or higher. It would cost about the same price. The Epox board goes for about $80 at newegg right now
