Is the NFORCE 4 really worth getting? The NForce 3s are pretty good, other then PCI - E there is no other reason to get a NForce 4. Especially since the price is A LOT less for the NForce 3.

They are worth getting for future upgradability. AGP doesn't have much more life left.. my guess is one year tops. Also, some very nice PCIe x1 cards will come in 2005 (HDTV tuner cards, Audigy 3, 10Gbps Ethernet and ect.)

yeah, i have to concur with phattyb. The peripherals are the real reason to go NF4. Also, SATA-II is pretty nice. Then again, i just ordered my NF4 SLI yesterday, so i might be a bit biased. Seriously though, your upgrade path will be much better with NF4, and NF3 socket 939 boards just aren't cheap enough to recommend an NF3 mobo.

BTW, the next audigy is in the works right now, and is called "Zenith." Also, terratec is making a dolby digital live card soon, so all you soundstormtroopers can stop bitching temporarily, lol.

Read the sticky starting about halfway down page 6. novapcs.com got an order of 20 and sold them for MSRP ($201). They didn't know what they had at the time. :)

Won't that depend on what board you get? For example, the Asus Premium board only has two PCIe slots which are meant for SLI...meaning other addon cards will still be limited to PCI.

You can use any PCI-E graphics cards on the ASUS SLI board. Next generation cards are probably not going to be released on AGP, so getting a PCI-E mobo now means you can upgrade to that card later on.

Of course, AGP cards may come out, but if so they will be more expensive.

Incorrect. The Asus Premium board has 1 x16 and 3 x1 PCIe slots. It's incapable of SLI because it on'y has 1 x16 slot.

The A8N-SLI Deluxe is 2 x16 and 2 x1.
