When you read all the way through, it sounds like there's nothing to be concerned about. Normal product launch junk. However, I was disappointed to read that the Ultra will not have the additional security measures or SATA 300. My understanding was that the only difference between the SLI and non-SLI boards was the dual graphics support.

that is the only difference. It clearly says that the SLI and Ultra both have activearmor and SATA-II, while the vanilla lacks both. The Ultra and SLI are identical except for the SLI, and the fact that some SLI mobos, like MSI, lack PCIe x1 slots.

Personally, I'm not too worried. I expect the Asus and Gigabyte boards to be here soon, so I'm just gonna order whichever is first. BTW, zipzoomfly has the Asus SLI Deluxe on preorder for $225, with ETA of mid-december. I'm thinking about ordering one, not sure though.
