Hi. I am looking into building a new system, and wanted to know if it is possible to run 3 monitors on a Nforce 4 SLI mobo with 2 GeForce 6600GT's (or other cards as well).

Also, does anyone know if there are any games that support 3 monitors? I know that Farcry will support 2 monitors, but with the center being in the middle - between two screens, it is impossible to play.

Thanks!

Yes you can run 3 monitors, but only when you disable SLI in the control panel. The current drivers do not support Multi-Monitors. SLI-Multi GPU Rendering will only work on 1 single monitor outputed to the primary card and DVI port 1.

Thanks for the heads up!

While it would be cool to have a 3 monitor setup and play that way, it's good to know that SLI won't buy me anything.

Here's my system setup:

AMD64 3200+ on a MSI Nforce 3 Ultra
1024M Geil CAS2 6332-1T memory
Gainward 6800GT golden sample (dual-dvi connections)
(2) Dell 2001fp monitors (3rd one might become availble - hence why I'm looking at this)

What would be the best way to go about setting up a 3 monitor system? I would assume that I would need to add a PCI video card for the 3rd monitor connection, but I want to play with this setup in games like Farcry, HL2, Doom3, etc. Maybe a SLI rig with SLI disabled would be the way to go - paired with a couple of 6800GTs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

a bunch of games support 3 monitors. (quake 3 engine, nascar 2002,2k3,2k4 games, unrealtournament 2k3,2k4, ms flight sim, half life 2 just to name a few.)

ps search surround gaming to see how beautiful they are.

Thanks everyone for the information. Actually I did do a search, but I was specifically asking about SLI, so that was the reason why there wasn't anything.
