I just got my box up and running pretty well and now I'm ready to update the nVidia Nforce drivers to 6.70. Should I just run install and overwrite, or should I uninstall the old drivers first? All that shows up in Change/Remove is "NVIDIA Drivers"... (along with n Tune and nv Mixer) -- no description of what they are.

Has nVidia cured their crappy IDE drivers in this last version?

Thanks.

If you click on change/remove, it will list all the nvidia drivers you have and you can select for de-install.
I recommend using Drivercleaner afterwards to get a really clean de-install ;)

I've heard the Drivercleaner can remove essential Windows components... is it really necessary?

never heard that one before

I use DCPro every single time I change out drivers, whether chipset, audio, forceware, etc.

interestingly, I have also never experienced BSODs or driver issues of any kind
