Just swapped my MSI Nforce 3 board for the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum. In terms of audio ... not that big of a change.
However, I now do not have digital audio! Neither the optical out or spdif is working with my Z-680s from Logitech. The control box for the Z680s says "No Digital Data" for both outputs. Also, I have no red light coming out of the optical jack. In nvmixer, when the white noise speaker test runs, I don't get any audio out of the digital outs. Playing a movie in VLC and specifing that I want to use the SPDIF also gives me no audio. None of these things change the No Digital Data on the control box. Ive poked around for hours and nowhere do I see and "enable digital audio" option. SPDIF is unmuted in windows master volume controls.
Analog audio works fine. AC97 is set to AUTO in the BIOS (aka enabled). No front audio headers are hooked up so the JAUD1 jumpers are still in factory settings.
Here is what bugs me the most...

Seems like more then just a handful of people have run into this problem.
