Nforce 4: 24 pin plugs?

The Chaintech NF4 boards, according to the pictures and manual, have 24 pin power connectors. The ASUS A8N also has a 24 pin connector. Does this mean woe to all of us who were going to go Nforce 4 but only have ATX 1.3 PSUs, in other words 20 pin power connectors?

That seems like an awfully bad move on the part of the board manufacturers...I'm pretty sure most of the market has 20 pin PSUs right now that are 400-500W and people expect to use in their next system...

Thoughts? Information? Discuss.

i know its not Nforce4 but i just built a system with the ASUS P5GD1 which has the 24pin plug using a 350W Antec 20Pin power supply and its been running fine for a week. using a PCI-e video card also.. According to the asus manual as long as the power supply is of a certain wattage it will work. now like i said this is for the 915 chipset but maybe its the same for the Nforce4?

My PSU (ATX 1.3) has a 20-pin power connector but also has a separate 4-pin that you also use if you have a 24-pin motherboard.

Do you mean the seperate 4 pin? Because mine has that too, but I was always under the impression that that was for the other 4 pin connection on the motherboard...

I'm running an Enermax Whisper II 460w that I got less than a month ago...I was hoping it would last me for at least the system I am building as we speak and the one after that...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG dont make the mistake and confuse the 12V CPU connector with the extra 4 pins for the 24pin motherboard connector !!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is NOT the extra 4 pins for a 24pin motherboard !!!

DONT USE THIS !
