I want to install a sound card. If I disable the onboard sound, stick the card in and load the drivers for it, will it work, or will the Nforce drivers dork me up?

Ok, I just realized that the Nforce audio drivers appear in add & remove programs...

Uninstall audio drivers
Reboot, install new sound card & disable onboard sound
Loqad drivers for new card
Right?

Here's another thing you can do. When you extract the Nforce drivers to your HD, various directories will be created for the individual drivers (ie, sound, AGP, IDE, NIC, Memory). If you don't want the setup program to install the Audio drivers, then simply delete the two directories that have Audio in their names.

I have a Epox 8RDA and I don't use the onboard sound and it doesn't have an onboard NIC. So when I update the Nvidia drivers, I just delete the Audio and NIC directories and those drivers don't get installed.
