nForce 250GB Question

I am looking to build a new computer for a friend and he wants to use the 939 socket. I suggested the nForce 250GB chipset, due to its reviews. I was thinking about going with the K8N NEO2 PLATINUM, but it seems that the 4 SATA connectors are all on the southbridge instead of 2 being there and 2 on a promise controller (or what have you).

Here is my question: Can he run a Raptor for the OS and Programs and RAID -0 two 160GB Drives on this controller. Or will I have to chose a board with separate controllers.

If I have to pick another board does someone have one to recommend. The system is going to be for video editing and for some gaming.

Components that have been chosen:

Athlon64 3800 / 3500
6800GT
Raptor
160 SATA Drives (2)
Sony Dual layer burner
2 GB RAM
Lian-li 1000v
Neo-power 480 PSU

Thanks

yes, that should work. on my mobo (k8n neo platinum) at least, there is one dual channel SATA controller (with support for 4 drives). my question is, though, why RAID? there is no point in a home system. the increased risk of losing data on both drives does NOT outweigh the increase in performance (which is very slight). its much better to just have 2 separate drives.

It is for Video rendering and from past experience RAID has worked better.

Dont waste your money on the NEO. Its pure junk and if you do a search around the net, you will uncover the ugliness MSI has created. I would either hold out and wait for the S939 DFI next month OR just get the Asus and call it done.

I would like some links too. I haven't read anything but good from the Neo as well.
