Nforce 2 mobo question (using all three memory slots)

RU482

Lifer
I've got an Nforce 2 motherboard I'm running a XP2500 and 2x256MB, plus a 9700pro video card. I would like to add a stick of 512MB memory to boost me up to 1GB total, so BF2 runs smoother.

For some reason, I seem to remember that filling the third slot results in a loss in performance. Anyone have any clues what I'm talking about here?

Most manuals I've seen for the NF2 mobo's say only 166/333mhz FSB with 3 sticks. However, many peeps have 3 sticks and are running at 200/400 FSB and higher.

Just follow the advice in the nForcersHQ thread. I.e, the two 256MB sticks in slots 1 & 2 and the 512MB in slot 3
