Hi all,

Ive just downloaded the new nvidia nforce 2 driver pack, every thing seemed to be working until I tryed bf1942 and other games.I dont have hardware support! Only software direct sound.

This is the new 4.25 driver. Now I have the realtek al650 codec, and decided to use the realtek driver to see what was up I installed it and I get back direct 3d hardware support also eax 1.0 and 2.0.

So whats up with the new nforce 2, 4.31 drivers, now this is a clean install using direcx 9.0b and winxp pro sp1.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers about 3 times and dont know why im getting only software support only, unless i decide to us the realtek driver, but I dont want to use the realtek driver as I want to use the new nvmixer.

Any help would be great.
P.S im Uk

The MCP-T supports everything the MCP does with the addition of an extra LAN controller, Firewire and the APU (audio processing unit). .

The Soltek SL-75MRN uses nForce2 MCP Southbridge. This chip contains all of the standard features like ATA133, and USB 2.0 but lacks "Firewire" and NVIDIA nForce APU. The board still features 6-channel audio via an onboard Realtek sound processor.

From the review of your board model, you are actually better ( the right drivers are "Realtek") using the realtek drivers, the Nvidia sound drivers are only needed really for MCP-T Nvidia boards.

So the nvidia drivers are really soft drivers, just software support driver which dont really give you all the features like hardware accelerated sound etc

Yes, you have use soltek drive for your sound chip. Soltek is the sound chip solution for your mobo, not Nvidia's integrated sound chip.

I used Realteks with my SL-75MRN-L too. Never did get anyu of the nV's to play nice on that board, and BF1942 was the first game that I noticed showed terrible sound with them. Driving a tank really sounded like crap with some sounds missing using the nV's.
