Why does anyone bother with pro football? If you all would quit paying for it they would go away.

How much is the Super Bowl halftime show worth to performers? Last year, Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers were onstage for about 12 minutes. With commercial time valued at $4 million per 30-second slot, that's nearly $100 million worth of publicity for a band.

I would love to see how they quantify that. This seems like a statistic pulled straight out of someone's ass.

The best responses to this thread are in the thread asking why the NFL is nonprofit.

I find it hard to believe any worth while super star needs exposure so terribly badly to "pay" to perform.
If that were the case, Tom Cruise would do movies for free just to have his face on the big screen.
And any loser performer willing to pay is probably not worth watching in the first place.
Nor could they afford the fee.

They should just have the two teams do one round of naked football for halftime, or the cheer leaders could do a round of naked cheer leading.
I mean, we've already seen a naked boob during halftime.
Just look at all the attention that created.
Come on NFL, be creative.

If this were a third world country, they could have a public execution or public beheading during halftime.

Beyonce is the only one in recent history whose career was actually damaged by performing in the halftime show, and that's not really the halftime's show fault, it's her ugly mug and bodybuilder thigh's fault.

Everybody else has had their career helped to the point that its worth it to do it for free or to even pay to perform.

Even with her, it was her reaction to the photos that caused the backlash. No one really gave much of a shit until she wanted them removed from the entire internet.

As much as I really really REALLY dislike her, you can't say her Superbowl performance damaged her career. Some months after her performance her new album came out it had the biggest, or close to the biggest 1st day sales of any album ever.

The greedy always want more. So what, the NFL is going to charge them millions of dollars to perform?? Good luck with that.
