Was anyone able to check out the NFL Red Zone Network today? I'd like to get it, but I want to make sure it's worth it before I shell out the money. I'd also like to make sure that Comcast broadcasts the channel in HD.

My apartment is the gathering place on Sunday, and I figure the channel might be good to run PiP with the main game we're watching at the time.

Any opinions on the network thus far?

i got it today and i'm happy i did. i pretty much stayed on it for the 4 pm games as i could watch most of the SF/Ari game late. it was nice not being stuck to a single channel for the 4pm games.

i'm on fios so no idea about comcast.

Yep, I just added it at 4pm today. Pretty awesome when you don't have one specific game you want to watch, or your team's game isn't being shown locally. I ended up seeing a lot of the best plays from the Seahawks and Cardinals games as they happened.

The posts here are funny, if only because I thought the polar opposite today -- why the hell would anyone pay for a highlights channel? Sounds like the old SportsChannel that would run the text sports updates in the morning hours, except updated for the 21st century. I play fantasy too, but I don't think I'll buy this.

Not criticizing anyone, but I mostly like to watch the Eagles. I'm satisfied with the scoring game breaks they show within the main game itself. I'm just surprised that people like this concept. Good thing I don't work in marketing!

It's not exactly a highlights channel because you see it as it happens live...which I believe is a big difference..

Ah, I didn't realize that it was live and not after the fact. That's kinda cool.

I'll tune in if Verizon offers a free preview next week or something. I'm too skeptical of whether I'd actually flip to it to buy it sight-unseen.

When you watch, do you basically just have this channel on instead of watching one game? I don't think I'd be willing to turn off my team to watch this, but for when they don't play at 1pm, it might be cool.

Yeah you can't watch this if your team's playing..
The Skins game was at 4 so we had this on before then... it was fun watching Drew Brees go nuts.... "Omg the Saints in the red zone again??"
