NFL network

Have you ever watched a live football game on NFL network? I don't know but I'm watching the falcons play the cowboys now and I must say that the Commentators here suck! They are not as exciting as on other networks.. and one of them sounds like he has a cold or something.

yeah, gumbel and collinsworth are horrible commentators. though i heard dick vermeil is filling in for collinsworthless tonight.

gumbel is completely worthless. the only useful thing i've found on nfl network is the sunday afternoon block where they play their sirius show and scroll through scores/stats of all the games going on.

Collinsworth is one of the better color guys I've heard. It's a shame he's paired with Gumbel, who's voice just isn't suited to play-by-play.

I love the channel, but yes, their coverage of games is comparible to ESPN MNF -- just horrible. Gumbel is the worst of them all though.

I don't know, ESPN MNF with Theisman and Tony Cornholer is pretty dreadful too.

Al Michaels and John Madden are much better.

Gumbel sucks. Why they have him as commentator is beyond me. Collinsworth is okay, but Gumbel is about as exciting as watching paint dry. I hope they dump him because you'd have to be brain dead not to realize how bad he is.

Michaels is good for play-by-play, but Madden is a joke.

We could have sworn that Gumbel call the game clock the "shot clock" during the game. He was just awful.

haha, that's actually pretty funny. He would say something like that

yeah Madden is kind of a joke. But get this, I heard that ESPN won't do MNF anymore starting next year. Instead, they would do the AFL and what not. ANyone heard about it?

I wonder how much money they pay him to say ****** like that on the air. Does anyone know his salary?

Under terms of a new agreement reached with the NFL yesterday, ESPN will pay $1.1 billion per year over the length of an eight-year contract to replace ABC -- both ABC and ESPN are owned by the Disney Company -- in televising the Monday night package of games.
