Now, wouldnt having the best drafting value over the last three years equate to actually having good players, which the Lions do not? So, the Rams have the worst draft value, yet they have far superior talent? And no, not all of that talent was in place before this three year period was calculated.

The disclaimer claims that this isnt a measurement of how good the players are. Huh? How can a player have 'value', if he isnt 'good'? The Lions have drafted in the top 3 picks, two of the last three years. If they are getting value for such players selected here, I would think that this team should be kicking some serious ass.

Joey Harrington hasnt done much so far in his career. Charles Rogers, out for the year. Cash, Goodman, out for the year. Holt, Dirty Davis, and Corey Redding hardly ever play. The only players I can think of that have value are Boss Bailey and Dominic Raiola. Also, since the Lions are the 'oldest' team in the league, they obviously cant be playing a whole lot of guys taken over the last few years.

Whatchu think?

Drafting is not the only component of a team. You have trades, free agency, etc...

Trades are almost nonexistant in the NFL... Although you have a point with FA's...

harrington is only in his 2nd year and is always gaining more experience. this is their first year with mooch as coach, too. rogers got some good experience early on, but then got injured. injuries across the board have hampered the lions all year. the lions have gotten great draft picks and have great, but young, talent. it just needs to be developed. look for a healthy lions squad to surprise the league next year. harrington will have even more experience, rogers will be back (after hopefully working his a$$ off in the off-season), everyone will be healthy, etc. they should do well, and then we'll see them in the superbowl in '05!

The disclaimer says that draft value doesn't equate to how good a player will be. So the Lions got the best players available at their pick to fill their needs but that doesn't mean the players picked will end up being good NFL players.

Anyway

The Giants shouldn't be allowed to make 1st round draft picks, they usually turn out to be busts. They did pick up Shockey (4 TDs in two years) and he's been their best pick by far recently.

You're right, Ryan Leaf was terrible!!
I had heard that they would draft Manning if they get the first pick next year.

I doubt they will get the first pick, and even then...i'd doubt they would go for Manning. They aren't that dumb. Brees has shown he can be a good QB, but the entire team has issues. Weak defense, inconsistent OL. I expect the Chargers to be a decent team next year. Marty won't let a team go to sh!t.
