lots of great names, great people and great history on that list.

Glad I don't have to decide.

Harrison and Haley I think will get in (Haley and Jimmy Johnson being like the last of the era of Cowboys not in the HoF...)

I don't think Bettis will get in, at least not yet. Davis, maybe, probably not though. He's been passed up a few times, why not one more?

Sadly, Andre Reed will probably get passed over again. If any WR goes in it will likely be Harrison.

I believe required number elected each year is 3-5 modern and 0-2 senior committee.

Well, add Walter Jones to my list then I guess. Personally I think the selection criteria should be tougher. There were a couple good years a while back where they inducted a bunch of truly deserving guys like Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, Marshall Faulk, Deion Sanders, and Shannon Sharpe.

Bettis has to get in. Why isn't Craig in there already?

Andersen would be my wild card vote. I remember watching him growing up 🙂

I'm probably stricter in who I would pick. For example, among guys now playing the only ones I think should be a lock to get into HoF are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Tony Gonzales, and maybe Champ Bailey. I'd add Ray Lewis from recently retired list. Megatron if he keeps it up for at least another year or so. Adrian Peterson if he doesn't fall to pieces in the next year or so.

You don't see Rodgers or Brees being HoF if their career's don't falter? Favre? Even Tomlinson? There is a lot of players coming up to HoF.

IMHO - Harrison and Haley, yes. Craig and Bettis, borderline. Everyone else, no. Terrell Davis probably is the most talented on the list but might not make it because his career was so short.

His short career makes what he did even more potent. He was the 4th player ever to run for over 2k yards in a season, won back to back SBs and was MVP for the first one. He won't get in this year, but that's mainly because he'll be eligible for a long time yet and they rarely induct people that quickly.

He better get in before some of the other RBs get eligible, otherwise he's waiting awhile. It took Cris Carter what? 10 years to get in?

If he isn't in before Tomlinson, Edgerrin James, Warrick Dunn, Fred Taylor maybe. I feel bad for Davis, because if he hadn't been plagued by injuries after '98, he would have continued his amazing career.

I don't think TD is a hall of famer... superbowl's don't count for other players the way they do for QB's. With only 3 HOF years before injury, by the time TD's time to get elected comes around... players as mentioned with more prolific numbers will be ready.

The problem with TD was he had amazing numbers until he got injured. His last 3 years combined were less than his lowest season before, his rookie season. There is no doubt, if he had continued at his pace, in 8+ season, he'd have been one of the best rushers of all time.

You don't see Rodgers or Brees being HoF if their career's don't falter? Favre?

Brees yes (records, ring, mvps, 7 probowl), Rodgers no as he's too young (ring, mvp, 3 probowl).

Favre is top 5 all time, so he is a first ballot.

Dungy? Why?

Edit: Interesting... he has 1 ring as player, 1 ring as coach.
Still no though.

Wat?

Brees yes (records), Rodgers no (just a ring).

Favre is top 5 all time, so he is a first ballot.

I think you need to take a look at Rodger's stats. Not only does he have the highest passer rating, his completion percentage is number 2 all time. he is 5 years behind Brees in age, and Brees' first 5 years weren't exactly stellar.

gale sayers was just as talented and had just as short a career.

imo, haley should have been in a loooooonnnnnggg time ago. Same with Coryell.

Sorry, as much waffling Favre did, I think the Hall should waffle on his ass for a couple of years too.

I could see Dungy getting as a combined player/coach. He was the head coach when the tampa 2 system swept the league.

Uh if we're talking about the same guy, Tomlinson will most likely be one they make wait. They count SB wins very highly, and when you don't even get to one it really hurts.
