i'm gonna get a new mobo and i'm pretty sure i want an NF7. i have no use for onboard audio, keeping that in mind, is there any other reason why i should pay an extra $20 for the NF7-s? btw, i'm gonna use this board to oc

I suggest going to ABit's page and picking the NForce2 board that has the options you do want. Why pay for SATA if you don't want it.

Get the NF7 if you don't need the sound capability of the NF7-S or the serial ATA. Buying the NF7-S in your situation would be a waste of money IMO.

The S version for me is probably a waste of time as well. Even if they get SATA working properly, Im not likely to buy SATA drives. However, I dont think Ive seen just an NF7 and also, over here, I can ensure a Rev 2.0 if I buy NF7-S

FWIW, SATA works fine on my NF7-S. Though I don't have any native sata drives, the seriell adapter lets you effectively run up to 4 hds on their own channels.
