nf7-s v2 temp sensor question

anyone else have a problem with the cpu temp sensor getting off after a few days of running?

for example, my comp had been up for 2 or 3 days and the cpu temp was showing 43C at idle...i rebooted, and now its at 39C and has been for an hour or so...

sometimes it goes the opposite way as well...i'll think, no way my cpu is running that cold, and reboot and its up a few degrees...anyone else have this problem, not neccassarily with a nf7-s, but anything nforce based?

i just don't get how the sensor gets off and then recalibrates itself after a reboot...its odd

Actually it's not as when you have the Puter on for a long time the Square {CPU} will get hoter and upon reboot {depending on how long between intervals} it will cool or remain the same or hotter...

Get back into OT quakefiend, you're not allowed to ask questions around here :|

Not after that stunt last night...

This is normal, and explainable.

As said above, if it's been on for a while and under load, then to reboot it may cool it down.

Depending on the circumstances it can also show hotter. When you reboot it CAN also heat up the cpu. Seems to me it (cpu) comes out of idle at reboot as it has to get to work to start up whatever apps are in "start up".

Plus the readings may not be "instantanious". I watch mine with MBM5, depending on the interval of reading the temp (1 sec or 5 sec.s), it can look a bit odd. Not sure what intervals the BIOS uses.

I pay the temps on my NF7-S V2 no mind 🙂 As long as it crunches Einstein@Home 24/7 with the 35w@2.5ghz and doesn't crash while my son runs his educational software, temps mean dick to me 😉

I've noticed the same thing on my NF7-S. A reboot can cause the temp. sensor to report a 3-5 degree difference...I don't think that the actual temp changes. It's probably just an error with the sensor readings.
