I have uninstalled and reinstalled one million times, the sound once worked, when I had only installed the ABIT NF7-S drivers from the ABIT stie. I went to nVidia and got their latest drivers and it's not working anymore. In an effort to get my sound back I tried Nasty File Remover (NFR) to remove the residue files and then reinstalling the drivers, but the sound just wont come back.

hi,

i reckon you should try the new beta audio drivers (nvidia 5.03) i think, they work a charm on my nf7-s rev2...

hope that helps, good luck,

Nathan

I've downloaded and installed the nforce503_win2000-xp drivers and still no sound. the nVidia mixer shows up on the tray, but when I click on it to open it, I get:
The application cannot start because it could not detect NVIDIA nForce hardware on your system. If this is an nForce system, check the Windows Device Manger to ensure the NVIDIA nForce Audio Codec Interface component is not disabled or conflicting with another component. The application will now shutdown.
That's verbatim what the error reads (Manger instead of manager).

When I look in device manager or in Sounds and Audio Device Properties, I see:
THIS Nothing seems to be showing up in the SADP but the hardware is apparently installed and not conflicting?

HAELP!

I tried installing an SB Live XGamer card, and it still is pretty much the same way, it is detected as hardware, but it can not be used; same exact picture as the one posted above. I tried both with the nForce sound enabled and disabled in the BIOS, and it's just not budging.

Anyone: thoughts, comments, oppinions?
