I have a rather strange problem. My computer spontaneously reboots either as soon as windows starts (black windows screen startup) or shortly there after once I get to the desktop. I have narrowed it down to SATA controller "1."

Here is what leads me to believe this.

1. The computer works with my sata raptor in the "0" plug.
2. The computer works with my sata raptor in the "0" plug and my wd1200jb plugged into ide1. Booting with my raptor.

3. The computer DOES NOT work with my sata raptor in the "1" plug. It reboots spontaneously in the windows black boot screen.

4. Alternatively i have tried booting with my wd1200jb on ide1 (I have windows on this drive too) and my raptor on SATA "1."The computer DOES NOT work with my sata raptor in the "1" plug. It boots into windows but shortly thereafter reboots (about 10 seconds or so)

5. I also tried booting my raptor on SATA 0 while with another sata drive (maxtor 7200.7 200gb) and it reboots during the windows black screen.

Any ideas on what this could be? Could this be a hardware problem on my mobo?

thanks!
Mike
