nf7-s PWRFAN1 head - not required?

on my nf7-s motherboard, I have a PWRFAN1 head, but my codegen case/power-supply doesn't have a chord for the PWRFAN1 head, only for the ATXPWR1 and ATX12V1 head, then the connectors for CD, HD, and floppy drives....

I'm being extra cautious because this is the first system I've built from ground up...I haven't turned any of it on yet, because I didn't wanna have my power supply going w/o its fan. will this power supply fan still go even if it doesn't have a designated chord to go into that PWRFAN1 head?

thanks,

The pwrfan header is just to report the speed of the power supply fan to the Winbond hardware doctor that comes on the driver CD and the PC health status part of the bios, so turn that baby on and get started.

If there's no wire coming from the PSU fan though, then there's nothing to plug into the motherboard. ;)
Since there's no wire coming from the power supply, that means that its fan is entirely wired inside the PSU. I've only used one power supply (Antec Truepower 430) that has the extra connector for the 3-pin motherboard header. And even then, it's only for monitoring - the power to the fan is provided from within the power supply. That's a safety precaution - otherwise, someone forgets to plug in that tiny 3-pin connector, and the PSU fries itself.
So you should be fine running with nothing on the PWRFAN1 header.

And one minor thing - "cord" is something like a wire. "Chord" is something concerning music. :p;)
